We Believe...
We would feel uncomfortable stating any sort of concrete definition for what autism is, as we do not have autism ourselves. Rather, we feel the personal narratives of those individuals identified as having autism that are represented on this website can give a much greater insight.
We strongly feel that every individual is unique, and that if you know one person with autism, you only know one person with autism. The range of complexity of this disability is immense, furthering the need to understand each individual with autism for who they are, and what they need.
Get to know your student(s) in genuine ways, and discover what their day to day interactions, actions, language, and other behaviors mean, so that you can best support them in an authentic way.
